In the event your website gets hacked, restoring a snapshot of the last backup would come in handy. Therefore it would be a good idea to backup your website when you make changes to it
- To backup, your website install UpdraftPlus Backups plugin to and back it up on your Google Drive
- Log in to your Website Dashboard. Click on Plugins, Add New. Search for Updraft
- Click Install Now, wait and then click Activate
- Click Settings, UpdraftPlusBackups. Then click on SettingsTAB
- Choose a schedule for Files& Database from the dropdown
- Choose Google Drive for “Choose your remote storage”
- Scroll down and click the checkbox for Email
- Scroll down and click Save Changes
- When prompted to “Remote storage authentication ....”, click the link and authenticate your Google Account and select ALLOW
- Click Complete Setup
- Then click Backup Now. Then click the button Backup Now again
- Wait for the backup to complete
- Check if the backup happens on the next schedule
